Remember Things the Way They Were

Come with me for a while,

Go back into the past.

Remember every mile,

A scream, a laugh, a smile.

I remember only fear.

Pulling up the duvet,

And crying angry tears

Praying no one would hear.

Every lie she would purr,

Sly words you would believe.

I need you to concur;

Remember how things really were.

The End
