Only Words

This paper holds only words

How tragic to think they cannot be enough

Under the tears all lined are blurred

How tragic to think they will not be enough

In between four landlocked eyes

The coldest, hardest silence lies

Hovers, uncovered, then suddenly dies

From the angriest tongue the honesty flies

These words are just what I deserve.

I take them, embrace them, reach out

They're mine.

I wrap my arms around you-- this letter is yours.
