Broken Promises

Do you remember all of those things you promised me?

Do you remember that I was the only one who cared?

Do you remember we were going to live and die together?

Do you remember I was going to save you when you fell?

Do you remember I was your confirmation on the last available day?

Do you remember I was the only one who listened that day?

Do you remember your regret when I asked you how you felt the next day?

Do you remember I was wrong?

Do you remember forgiving me?

Do you remember my letters, my cards, my words?

Do you remember all that I did for you, every day taking so much time.

Clearly, you don’t. I must forget too, as if it all never happened, as if all of the memories never were.

Because clearly, in your eyes, they were never there.

The End
