Pieces Lost
They say it’s never too late to fix what’s broken
But what if the pieces have dissolved?
What if they’ve disappeared and turned to nothing?
How do you find the pieces that are lost forever?
Maybe it’s been so long that you’ve forgotten
Where you left them last or if
They were even together in the first place
They may not be special enough to remember
So I suppose you can send out a search party
To find the missing pieces and yet
If you really wanted them together to begin
You wouldn’t have forgotten where you put them
When the search fails because your memory
Of what’s good is completely lost
You can force yourself to forget again
Or you can simply begin your journey anew.
