Piece by Piece

This was inspired by a piece of work by Claire Harvey from her exhibit "Daily Measures" at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) in Winston Salem, NC. The showing was full of emotion with minimal material in the making of each work- drawings on office supplies.

Sitting atop the jutting fixture.

Silence in the wind,

and in the choice

that will flail.

Falling voices, and their faces

dropping like small stones

that just make it to the

bottom before all of

their planes crack.

The glass of your bones will

not hold you anymore

than the glue of your soul

to this place.

Landing in a world of white.

from the clustered top to

the fractured remains

of your existence.

The End
