Picture You

You're always the one
Who is taking the picture,
The wrong side of the lens
For memories.

You're always the one
Who catches us eating,
Frozen forever with our fork
Halfway there.

You're always the one
The light never catches,
Just out of sight behind
The camera.

You're always the one
Not in the album,
Because you were the one
Taking photographs.

You're always the one taking
The pictures we keep,
Always the one pressing
The button.

And now what?

Now you're gone, and in all of the photos
We're a family without you,
United save one.

You took my whole album,
With none of yourself.

And without those photographs,
How can I
Picture you?

The End
