Permission to Exist

About someone who forces you to deal with their problems before your own

Pushing me and pulling me this way and that

I can't help but ask permission to exist

and when my own problems arise

I've no other choice but compromise

Twisting me and turning me this way and that

I want to know if I have permission to speak

because when the time comes to do or die

know that I can never surrender or compromise

Looking at everything that we've said and done

I shoulder your problems but when I asked for you

all you do is turn away and run

When you ask me for the love of others

all I think about is the fallacy of lovers

everyone failed you but yet

there you go again, seeking out another

Taking me away from all of this

is the realisation my life is changing

and inside of me a storm is raging

changing me into something new

Pushing me and pulling me this way and that

I can't help but ask permission to exist

and when my own problems arise

don't you ever dare ask for compromise

The End
