Pale

Furious with the anxious reflection
these passing mistakes conceal the redemption
Celebrate the derivative form of optimism
there will never be another golden year like childhood

There will be no more surprises
There will be no more fear
Make the best of what you have now
because when it is gone
It is never coming back

Furious with what I have done
rather than the actions of others
Designate your troubles to me
I will carry them to the worlds end

There will be no more surprises
There will be no more fear
Make the best of what you have now
because when it is gone
It is never coming back

In the empty street there’s a house
devoid of everything I ever cried over
Just a mausoleum for my chrysalis
my chrysalis of youth

I look so pale against my youth photographed
Broken veins lead the inward rebellion
Beauty has destination not upon me
but somehow, I plead, I have beauty within

The End
