Our End

A short story written in the course of a few poems about a falling out of a relationship that had once been believed to be true love.

Too loud, too close to an edge

The voices in my head

Urging me to say the words

As you stood there

Waiting for the hurt

You knew my feelings had changed

Things would never be the same

"Forever and after"

I'd promised you

But now I can't keep up

To the love I'd thought

Had been real.

You're waiting

For the tears

Waiting for the truth

To be released

In its cold hard medium.

You wait

and I remember

The promise I'd once given.

The End
