One Moment
For one moment,
That one moment,
You were all that existed.
I was aware that they were there,
And yet I felt that the only things that mattered,
Were you and I.
Something in the look you gave,
Something caring and proud,
Filled me up till I felt nothing,
Nothing but the love of you.
And in this moment,
Brief as it was,
My heart was cast asunder.
Because despite this moment,
The love I felt,
This is how we must always be.
Split, and seperate.
Two lives cast asunder,
No matter the love in my heart.
