On the Devil's DimeMature

Lying to a tainted mirror,
I stole myself away from me.
Lost arms to hold me dearer,
Gaze into eyes I cannot see.

False vows of broken words,
Answered back from the dark,
A voice I know I’ve heard,
Prayer welts that leave a mark.

I saw my retribution,
In the eyes of a lonely sky.
Late for my execution,
I’m on my way to fucking fry.

Shunned light from the summer day,
Something’s missing from my mind,
A little hate can go a long way,
When you’re on the devil’s dime.

Open to Psalm 88:6
You’re all my guests to hell,
Y’think you’ve got me trapped here,
Open up to 139:12

Spoken word through broken windows,
Speak softly or you’ll get cut.
If I pull you by the necktie,
Stained glass will be of blood.

I saw my institution,
Burn down in a glory flame.
I spurred a revolution,
Nothing will be the same.

Something more lost every day,
It’s gone forever half the time.
A little hate can go a long way,
When you’re on the devil’s dime.

The End
