Psalm

You told me never to be afraid:
You told me you're there with me.
So when I'm anxious I turn to face you,
And I can feel you, there with me.

You told me I'll never be alone:
You told me I'm never unwanted.
So when I'm lonely I come before you,
And I can feel your love for me.

You told me you're watching o'er me,
You told me I'll never be unnoticed.
So when I'm running I can't escape you,
And I can feel your gaze on me.

And so, oh Lord, I ask a question -
Where were you when I was alone?
How could you just leave me crying,
When you promised to always love me?

But I know I'm being selfish -
I know that you were always there.
So when I'm anxious, I turn to face you,
And I can feel you, there with me.

The End
