The Sidhe

(or, girl vs fairy)

Lift it, they say,
Take it from its case:
Let the tunes whirl
Forget the troubled day.

And then what? I reply
You'll steal me away
To a forgotten land
And leave me to die?

Just lift it, they tell me
Feel the smooth wood
The delicate strings
Why still can't you see?

And I tell them, because
I've a brain in this head
I know I can't trust you
Though you're a ghost of was.

I know if I let my guard down,
You'll take me from here
To a place I don't know
And make me your own.

The End
