Old Hearts And Sweet Reunion

It's all about meeting up with old friends, realising how different you actually are

I was always going out

Bumped into a figure, 5pm Saturday afternoon

The trees swaying side to side

Turning around, shouting hello

Hello hello old friend, what a day to see you again

Shock gives way to joy, reforging links once destroyed

And we'll walk and talk through the city ahead

Barroom tables and reminiscing

Sweet reunion never tasted so bitter

I rolled the dice and I failed again

Speaking kind words to old friends

Trying to thaw the hearts of cold friends

Birmingham city lights, Stourbridge Friday nights

I realise what a mistake I made in those so-called glory days

On the street corners and fate was laughing for a different reason

Because friendships wither and die, spring to life like the seasons

Sweet reunion never tasted so bitter

I rolled the dice and I failed again

Speaking kind words to old friends

Trying to thaw the hearts of cold friends

Ever increasing heated words exchanged

Promises broken and all the blames laid

Different tales cast and the prices paid

Birmingham city lights, seem a long time past

It seems friendships are never made to last

The End
