Ode To The Monsoon

Inspired by 'Ode to the West Wind' by Percy Shelley. And, of course, the monsoon

O sweet water heavenly,

How I envy thee!

Thy powers surpass all others

Thy tender care - pure as a mother's

To unborn seeds of life you give birth,

Thou art the essence of life on Earth.

Pitter-patter do you fall

And one can hear the peacock's call

Out in the forest somewhere

Without worry, without a care.

But at times  you arrive with a bang, clap, roar

And all creatures fear thy wrath and cause furore

Thou art almighty, thou art stupendous

Thy presence unseen is all around us.

O sweet water heavenly,

I do envy thee!

The End
