Ode to snow

Falling silent in the night

don’t go out you might get sick

cold starlight oh yes star bright

please i wish the snow would stick

as i sit and watch the snow

i get lost as crystals fall

hit the girt like bombs of ice

i accept that none would know

none would care to watch me crawl

freeze my heart quick and concise.

Waking up a land of white

not the shade i had in mind

look outside it’s way too bright

just to blind these eyes of mine

i am still not worth your time

sitting on my windowsill

promise you won’t waste your breathe

i’ll just sit and write a rhyme

understand if words could kill

i’d have thought myself to death.

The End
