Dark RiverMature

Dark River swirls through my hair,
Over my body, pulling me down
Under deep waters; the liquid lair
Gently filling my lungs; I drown,
Lost beneath the surface, without air,
Accepting my fate, resting on watery ground,
Submerged forever, in my beautiful nightmare.

*the name 'Douglas' literally means, 'black stream/river' -- this poem is an acrostic, and a play on that meaning.
