Life On Pause

I stand still, motionless

My feet are moving but my soul is still

Left, Right, Left, Right

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

Time goes by at breakneck speed

But still it is motionless

I try to move, to change

But I'm always a statue

Helpless to watch the world go by

They don't need me, don't want me

So I walk left, right, left, right

Moving but not really going anywhere

Life's rythm surrounds me

I don't match the tune

A discordant note, played done and hidden

Put on pause for further examination

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

Time is measured in events, not seconds

And I am still

I try to move but only my feet comply

Left, Right, Left, Right

There is someone next to me

They are moving but I am still

They go past me, but turn around

"Why so slow?"

"I don't know."

"Why so still?"

"I feel ill."

"Want a push?"

My feet move

Left, Right, Left, Right

I am in motion

It hurts to stretch my muscles

It hurts but I feel good

Better then before

I have changed

Left, Right, Left, Right

My feet are still

I am in motion

"Thank you stranger."

"Your welcome, but I'm no stranger."

"Thank you friend."

"Let's walk"

Left, Right, Left, Right

Now we're moving

It feels good

Life is back in motion and I move with it

The End
