No Action No Command

 Before you lay me down,

Box closed, in the ground,

I want to let you know,

Why I chose this way to go.

These words were never mine to write,

This story second hand.

These lines were never mine to say,

No action, no command.

Before you turn away,

Dry eyed, from my grave,

I want to let you see,

How this was never me.

This stage was never set for me,

I was just an extra part.

The costume never mine to wear,

No action, no command.

Before you shut me out,

Heart broken, from the fight,

I want to let you know,

It was always me, not you.

The lights were never lit for me,

The applause for someone else.

My life was never mine to act...

No action. No command.

The End
