Nights Like These

Two people try to answer all the questions on their mind on a night like any other.

It was the sort of night that feels everything
And nothing at all,
It's never ending and oh so short and
Beautiful and painful.
The sort of night in which you could fall in love
Yet break your heart in the same moment.
Nights like these get stranger still.

It was the night she walked the streets
And stood completely still,
Seeing the noise and the silence and
Feeling it all.
The voices in her head were a waterfall
That sounded louder than the sun.
Nights like these get stranger still.

It was the night he lay in his bed
And felt more alive than ever,
Reading thoughts and knowing nothing and
Feeling electric.
The night was young when he saw the
Frost dancing through the summer.
Nights like these get stranger still.

It was the night she made her mind
And  had never been more indecisive,
Knowing the future and seeing the fog and
Being nobody.
The songs flew through the dark streets like
Lightening without any thunder.
Nights like these get stranger still.

It was the sort of night that feels everything
And nothing at all,
She fell in love with the idea of him and he
Fell asleep.
The sort of night that matters at the time but
Ultimately, is insignificant.
Nights like these get stranger still.

The End
