Nautical Nexus

Nautical Nexus

Waves of pipe dreams come crashing
Against the waiting rocks of reality.
Foaming up on the sands of my modest world
I stand on the pier of reluctance dolefully watching

The good ship confidence hits turbulent waters
Captain zest is thrown overboard and cannot
tread the vacuum current of deep regret.
Eventually he drowns towards the abyss of ennui.

The fishes of prosperity are decimated
Poisoned by oil spilled from a tanker of inertia.
They float lifelessly in the

Nautical Nexus

Waves of pipe dreams come crashing
Against the waiting rocks of reality.
Foaming up on the sands of my modest world
I stand on the pier of reluctance dolefully watching

The good ship confidence hits turbulent waters
Captain zest is thrown overboard and cannot
tread the vacuum current of deep regret.
Eventually he drowns towards the abyss of ennui.

The fishes of prosperity are decimated
Poisoned by oil spilled from a tanker of inertia.
They float lifelessly in the blackened humdrum sea
Eventually they get washed up on the shore of
My cold damp morning.

The ocean is the present day
The river is tomorrow
It flows into the ocean providing it with more of the same.

The End
