prompt: two months apartMature

My mother always told me
hindsight is twenty-twenty;
I guess she’s right.
I remember when we drove
fourteen hours straight
just to get to the beach
and we got lost halfway there.
You drove for an extra three hours
because you refused to stop for directions.
But you cut the drive home down
by four hours.  I wish people
had road signs, maybe then
we’d know how to find our way back
to that twisted highway and
that abandoned beach.

The End
