i am seizing up.
my joints are creaking.
i am clumsy and disquiet.
these nights i don’t rest anymore.
i clamber into sleep, wildly and chaotically,
and i wrestle with it until i pin it to the ground.
my systems are getting glitchy.
my fingers twitch, reaching out; my legs move me
in the night while i fight greater demons than bloody heels.
the deadbolts on the door are insufficient.
they don’t keep me from wandering like your arms used to.
