My Sunshine
The sun came up this morning; I could see
I thought it looked quite a bit like you
Its rays so bright they nearly blinded me
Illuminating life’s hullabaloo
It woke the world. I heard a bird cuckoo
The heat came next, soon dewdrops sizzled loud
I looked out and had to wonder who
What fool would spend that day inside a crowd
You blinded me to you, you should be proud
Yet you showed faults in all else of my world
You caught me, had me trapped inside a shroud
I wonder why I stay with you, my girl
And yet I wait to hold your little hand
And walk you out the door, away to band
