My name I skate into the ice
Looping once and hopping twice
K-A-T-E, looking nice
All their eyes it does entice

It's quite the feat I must admit
The other skater throws a fit
And then a skate and then a mitt
Then sits right down to cool a bit

And I am queen of this here rink
I do not even stop to think
When the ice begins to shrink
And into water I then sink

But I am a good swimmer too
Better than both she and you
And I am fine, though I will sue
And then the boy's I'll court and woo

Author guidance for This poem

These poems are inspired by a members' names, and involve some deviation of them. I've christened the process "name skating" in honour of the original poem.

The only guidelines are as follows:

1) It has to be a poem. The type of poem does not matter :)

2) It has to be about the name of an author on the site, and the title must reflect this. NOTE: Poems are not about the authors themselves.

3) It must play somehow on their screen name, whether this be by use of a pun, or other wordplay, such as using their name in a different sense than usual.
