Silly Mary, Why?

I believed in you for so long,

All your words, empty promises, and even our song.

You told me these wonderful things,

And in everything that life brings,

I was your shining star, your only hope;

But you let me fall, you cut the rope.

You twisted the truth, dressed it in pretty little lies,

Even making it look fancy with tailored bow-ties.

Now I know, I can see through the haze,

I wasn't what you wanted, I didn't brighten your days.

It's your turn to wander, scream, and break,

It's your turn to follow the path you made me take.

After all that I've been through,

I don't understand how I was ever with you.

Silly Mary, why?

The End
