Midnight Gifts

Midnight gifts:
A fallen star,
A stolen shadow,
A silver light.

Midnight gifts:
A secret whisper
A hunted love
A tale shared.

Morning comes:
The star is gone
The shadow fades
The light dark.

Morning comes:
The whisper drowned out
The love forgotten
The tale nonsense

But night will fall again
And bring with it
A Midnight Gift
Or two.

The End
