Little Kitten

Little kitten,

Rubbing your back on my leg,

Relieving your nerves

As if I'm a scratching pole.

Little kitten,

Purring on my lap and asking me

For a bit of fish and

For milk in bowl.

Little kitten,

Chasing the smaller mice around the house,

Grabbing at their tails,

As they come out of their holes.

Little kitten,

Stretching out regally,

On the bed as if it's yours,

Not giving me any space.

Little kitten,

Thinking about your friend,

That's me, you know,

And I love you so.
