Elephant Thump

Today I heard an elephant thump,

It hit me when I watched the elephant jump,

It wasn't tiny, thin, and frail,

It was big, fat, and had a long gray tail!

I remember it all very clear,

I still feel a shake from the ground, oh dear!

I hope all my friends believe me

When I say how loud a thump can be!

I walk past mom and my dad,

They look a little bit sad;

They wish they would have felt the thump,

That had not been a small bump.

Now I'm not one to be frightened,

In those situations, pretty well, I fare,

But if you would have heard that elephant thump

You would have jumped out of your chair!
