Was the sun always so bright?

Was the sun always so bright?
For if it wasn't, that wouldn't be right.
During the day there'd be not enough light,
or dazzling sunsets to brighten the night.

Or what if the sun didn't come out to play?
The moon would reign for all of the day
All of the flowers would droop in dismay.
And life would be in disarray.

Or what if the sun was twice as hot?
The world would fry and people would rot.
Thirst there would be, and water there'd not.
And all living things will have gone to pot.

So be thankful that the sun is just right
for if not, we're in for a thumpin' good fright.

The End
