Sinking

Up and down are two in one,

light comes from everywhere.

Don't struggle or you'll catch yourself,

in water's vicious snare.

Hold in the air, don't let it out!

Keep nose and mouth tight shut.

But find escape, for after while,

it pains you in your gut.

That pain that causes sight to dim,

that causes legs to thrash,

that causes fear and lunacy

during a final dash.

Woe to those who take the path,

that leads into the deep.

For here you'll find no air or breath,

but rather painful sleep.

And so the sun, receding, flies,

away from panicked eyes.

Last thoughts before a fatal breath,

the water's full of lies.

The End
