My Hazel-Eyed Angel

A sonnet I wrote for my English II Honors class.

I know a boy with a hazel-eyed stare--
An earthly seraph with invisible wings;
Charming, lively, with a heart beyond compare--
The sun gleams brighter every time that he sings.
This glorious angel makes my heart soar
With a love far stronger than restless Fate;
I could never possibly ask for more
Because this angel is my definite soul-mate.
I live, I breathe, without any fear,
Not letting selfish doubt take its toll--
The knowledge that he is here and near
Is enough to soothe my aching soul
For he is the owner of a heart of gold,
And of a love that will never grow old.

The End
