That Special Place in my Heart

My friends mean the world to me
I love them more than stars or sea.
They're from lots of different places,
Different countries, different races.
Some are new and others old
All in my dozens of tales, retold
Thousands of times, immortalised
In my memories, by lights in my eyes.

I miss the ones I've left behind
I'm always keeping them in mind.
Wherever I go and whatever I see
I wish my friends were here with me.
Australia, Canada, Germany too
They're all so different it looks like a zoo!
I miss them while I travel around
But always in my mind their voices sound.

Even when we're continents apart
They always have that special place in my heart.

The End
