My Dead Twin Brother

A poem for my mother who lost her twin brother.

My twin brother died
The day I was born
I guess he thought
I didn't need him anymore

He kept me company
In the dark womb of life
As we approached the gate
We said our goodbyes

Sickly and ill
He never made that next step
"Keep moving forward
And treasure every breath"

Now alone and wet
Blood fills my eyes
Sorrowful tears of living joy
State that I've arrive

As for my brother
Who never been born
The only traces of him
Have been mopped off the floor

The End
