Mr Second Best

He’s depressed again
in his own self-indulgent snare
She doesn’t like him
so he should get over himself

He writes five poems a day
all about the same topic
They will take him seriously
if he gets committed

I told him he needed help
but he just laughed in my face
I told him he needed to eat
but he finds his skinny body a disgrace

He smokes for hours on end
never paying for them though
Getting drunk with all his friends
till he shows them the cuts he bears

He dreams of being chased
maybe he should just grow up
Too old to be this introverted
and too young to want to die

I told him he needed help
but he laughed in my face
I told him he needed to eat
but he finds his skinny body a disgrace

I told him he needs to get out more
He claims there is nowhere to go
I told him he needs to lighten up
but he didn’t want to know

The End
