Morbid Blues

A cathartic exercise I used to blow out a few of my blues

Adrift on the sea

Waters so wide that I can’t see

The coastline on either side

Safe harbour far behind

Searching for the land

I’ll call my home

Through the dark

Alone at night

Stars and blackness all around

Emptiness and space

Looking for a guiding light

To lead me out of the void

Of night

To journey’s end

We’re all adrift

We’re all together yet all alone

On endless seas

Of love and fear

Not knowing when we’ll reach

The safety of

Dry land again

The End
