Monster of the Mind

Free verse poem on breaking temptation

She is a monster of the mind

A lure of evil

An endless vice embedded in every beings mind

Establish her; and you will revel in momentary joy

Subsequently confined in ceaseless culpability.

She is the drug of addiction

A power

A lure of command

Her enticement; calling on ones weakest, most desired defect

Her purpose is for greed.

The insatiable mother temptation.

She has a shell of splendor, but a yolk of repulsive delight

Her intention is for eminence.

But not for compassion

Allow her to control your actions

But actions she will be

Actions, which will be the pioneer of self-loathing

And self-loathing, the founder of mistrust and loneliness.

Relationships are her enemy

Neither can withstand while the other thrives.

But she O’mother temptation is the act of parasitism,

Her triumph is the destruction of innocence

O’Mother temptation why give in to you

I cannot break free from your magnetic pull

Your enemy is from above

What side shall I be

Either one, my will wants to be free

She is a monster of the mind

A lure of evil

An endless vice embedded in every beings mind

Establish her; and you will revel in momentary joy

Subsequently confined in ceaseless culpability.

The End
