Mine

awake

the crypt is sealed and still
come the dawn
forgotten darkness
I stare
into the emptiness
cast upon this silken surface
while things submerged
whisper and wait

until the sun
begins to drown
this hidden grave
lies
undisturbed

asleep

the crypt is lidless and full
come the dark
I am reminded
I run
for now these waters seethe
with bloated things and screaming things
a mine of monsters
with endless reach

until the son
begins to drown
the grave lies
hidden
undisturbed

The End
