Memories

Recommend

If busy was what you did,

In the arms of another girl,

Would calm serenity be my dark void ended,

My sweet release, my death, my heart mended.

I remember you now,

As a tragic memory,

Now that I have a new life,

A full heart,

And safe sanctuary.

Author guidance for This poem

UponAtlas When I write poetry, I write whatever comes to mind, most often based on personal experiences; there's no set plot, no set direction for it to go. It's freeverse.

So don't hate (too much). :)

Atlas.

Just a thought on each piece;

1. Once a cheat, always a cheat.

2. A love lost (strangely, this was running through my mind as a rap as I was writing it... so apologies if the rhyming of the stanza's are a little odd)

3. From a falling star

4. Forever and always; D, this is for you boo

5. Never in black and white

6. Healing reconciliation (the final piece in a collaboration with a friend; her pieces aren't posted, sorry)

7. When the world turns black

8. Friends, because they're worth it

9. Refugees to immigrants to citizens;
- dedicated to my parents for everything that they've done for my brother and I, giving us the opportunity to grow and thrive in a first world country such as Australia. Johnny & I are both Australian-born, but we'll never forget our roots.

10. Becoming an adult? No thanks, I'll pass.

:)
