Line in the Sand
That line through your teeth
I had to laugh, only not really
It's parallel now, with my line in the sand
The sand you've stuck your head in
So very, very comically
Only not really
Always
You lie and you lay
By that bed that you've made
Built on the sands, the sands of time
Your only support, if you'd face the facts
To set you straight, I drew my line
My line in the sand
But you made a face
Always two-faced, to save face
Turned your back, even as the sands
Ebbed away
Always
You lay and you lie
And sleep in that bed of sand
You couldn't even keep a straight face, but
I can't help you see this face you put on
And wind will sweep my line away
Time moves on, after all.
