Loves' Requiem In Winter

This just came out of me and I have no idea why. Hope you like.

Across the ocean there is a house

Containing the beauty of thy loss

He prays to God for a sign

But fails to see his life is what he’s crying for

The beauty in splendor of her hair

As it falls from here to there

Her face pure marble

All eyes would marvel

At his devotion to her

Beauty of Alyssa in his eyes

His heart never wanted to say goodbye

His mind’s thoughts called to him again

“Did it all go to plan?”

Across the ocean there is a family warm and true

One that he barely knew

The roses fall from the snowy skies

 Ravens call with voices high

A lost little girl crossing there

Forest foliage brushing past

In the cold wintry air of a mist she stares

Shadow of devil upon the earth

A breath of ice, familiar curse

Forgive

Forget

He sees her hair, the blood washed away

“Come with me far away to stay”

Endless fears in nocturnal rage

Coldness froze her heart back to life

“My path is laid and my heart is thine”

Packed his bags and said adieu

Didn’t wait until she knew

Forgive

Forget

I love you but my path is laid to a place to stay

Endless gazing an eternity divine

Progress is made but my heart is not thine!

Like a ghost in the fog, she disappears

Alyssa, so we miss her, beauty in blue

The roses fall from the snowy skies

 Ravens call with voices high

“I love you, my path is being laid, but my love is not thine.

And the pride of another

Brought hatred to a mothers son

Her lullaby rings through his ears

Its all he ever hears

“I see Ravens fly overhead

Led me through things I wouldn’t dare

Rest your head now don’t wonder why

Sometimes things don’t work out no matter how hard you try”

"I am not

I am not

A slave to him,"

And so the fog proclaims her

The last he ever beheld of her

Eyes closed, image burned anew

Her words echo though he already knew

“Sometimes things don’t work out no matter how hard you try”

So he says his final lines

Lost maestro, marionette in kind

Never asked the reasons why

The roses fall from the snowy skies

Star-crossed lovers, dead to each other

In the winter sky.

The End
