Love Sonnet - Love Long Lost

A Sonnet I wrote in my English class

I caught your blue eyes from across the room,

But lifes to old for me too pursue you.

I lost my heart long ago in winter gloom,

And my red eyes are wet with springtime dew.

My heart is broken from a love long lost,

The pain runs on my skin like a metal knife.

The sting of rejection came at a cost,

And now the sting of love affects my life.

But as I look ‘cross the room at your eyes

I see a long lost love in your broken

Soul and I want to erase my hearts lies

And I find the door to you is open.

Alone in the world without soul or heart

Now I find me and you are not apart.

The End
