Lost then FoundMature

Colors burst.

Tires squeal.

Waves crash against the shore.

My heart races,

one more swallow.

The floating ectasy fills my brain,

takes me away with a euphoria so delicious.

My body freezes from the release that has taken over

Then I push through the clouds,

to the memories of us.

I have to keep going.

Running, faster,

lungs, burning.

Euphoria escapes too quickly,

My feet tingle

as the water flows over my ankles.

I tread on and on

the water is almost there,

then suddenly there is a force pulling me to safety

I dive down, and down

farther, deeper.

Numbness succumbs my senses

Takes over everything

I give in then...

The End
