Losing Herself To AnotherMature

It was inspired by an episode of How I Met Your Mother, where they talk about people who are 'on the hook', meaning that they keep dragging people along on vague promises of romance

She’s making conversation

She’s captured the heart of one

And the lust of another

And she knows how friends will stab each other in the back

No honour amongst thieves

No mercy amongst brothers

My friend whispers advice in her ear

As he plans with her to destroy me

My energies and efforts all in vain

He’s surely fucking her now

As I’m stood waiting in the rain

And I replay the body language in my mind

She had always lost herself in his eyes

It’s inevitable but still heartbreaking

She’s just another girl

Who will never be mine

I close my eyes in the dark

And the thoughts of them

Run past like monstrous cinema

Nothing can hold back this tide of revulsion

Little does she know he plans to destroy her

My friend recalls treacherous memory

Images thrown into my conscience

And every word and picture brings silent pain

I’m certain now he has captured her heart

As I stood waiting in the rain

And I replay the body language in my mind

She had always lost herself in his eyes

It’s inevitable but still heartbreaking

She’s just another girl

Who will never be mine

The End
