Little Glass Heart

I had a little glass heart

That sat on the edge of my dresser

It sparkled in the sunshine

In a place it had sat forever

My little heart held many things

Memories of new and old friends

It held everything Id ever done

All my beginnings and all of my ends

I showed my heart to everyone

Open to whoever it pleased

Then one day I met you

A piece my heart would need

But one night a thunderstorm

Struck and shook my home

The little heart fell from its place

Leaving me all alone

I watched it shatter on the ground

Those sparkling fragments of glass

Tears of heaven poured from the sky

I shouldve known it couldnt last

My poor little heart of glass

The End
