Lightning From A Blue Sky

Amidst a peaceful day came the news that broke my heart: "I cheated."

No clouds, no wind, no rain.

No warning of the wound that came.

Quick and quiet, the lightning flashed.

Long and loud, the thunder thrashed.

It tore me through, split my soul

And filled the hole with a charred chunk of cracked coal.

The End
