Life Support
I was there with you that night
As I shivered with cold and fright.
Or maybe you were with me
For I was too blind to see.
Darkness was everywhere
But you were always there
You were watching over my soul
As death took its toll
And as everything went cold
I did as you told.
Your voice told me to keep going
Even when my heart was slowing
It's beats numbered and ticking
All joints sore and clicking.
I wasn't awake
Yet you would partake
In any way to make me see humanity's grace
By keeping my heart at a steady pace.
Now I survive without the life support
Life is no longer something I must abort.
So thank you, oh God in Heaven
Thank you for saving me from nine eleven.
