Let Me Close My Eyes

Let Me Close My Eyes

 By Katrina Kwan

You appeared so sad today

Eyes all red and tears so grey

Like a child who lost his way

Sulking in his own silence

No words that I could say

Or written note could you sway

And wake you from where you lay

Whilst you wait for providence

While my heart reaches decay

And you clasp your hands to pray

I see past my end of days

And wait to cease my hindrance

It’s the debt that all must pay

Like wilting flowers of good May

Let the Sleep come to play

And please bid me good riddance

The End
