Less than a Memory

I am just less than a memory
strung out on my bed
Feel my chest constrict
with every breath I am punished

Your words have been carved into my arm
the blade against the flesh
almost felt like love
more comforting than what you said

I will be less than a memory
if you let me
I will be less than a memory
if you forget me
I’ll be buried in the embrace of the sea

So I am less than a memory
I don’t know what you want
or I do...
I’m just afraid of your reaction

I craved a cigarette to blemish my arms
darken my lungs with self immolation
Such a romantic life to be distilled
I was just a lie after all this time

I will be less than a memory
if you let me
I will be less than a memory
if you forget me
I’ll be buried in the embrace of the sea

I presented a bouquet of dead flowers
you carved a swastika into the sun
I felt so weak within my polish skin
you eyes burned with fuhrer scorn

The End
