Lemon Girl

The opposite of love isn’t hate it’s indifference.

What’s the difference for me?

I’m not just wounded I’m defeated too?

Don’t be indifferent to me.

I don’t want to be faceless nameless.

Blurring at the edges...

I don’t want to be your past.

Tell me why, tell me how...

Just don’t tell me no.

I must be made from lemons.

All I can conjure up are curled up lips.

And squinted shut eyes.

What did I ever do to you?

Bittersweet turned sour.

Bittersweet turned sour.

Oh lemon girl.

Oh lemon girl, all you’ll ever have is longing.

Time is our enemy.

Time is everyone’s advisery.

It’s slips from our fingers like water.

And wastes us away.

There just wasn"t enough time.

And we sacrifice so much of it to make ourselves comfortable.

But you are done always being the one.

Don’t be like that,

so full of holes that you won’t let me fill.

You didn’t always have to be the one that gives.

The one who lets go until you got nothing left of you.

I can’t fix this but I can take the blame perfectly.

The End
